Tuesday was our first Creative Get Together, a concept devised by a group of creative freelancers in Dublin. After putting the word out, we weren’t sure how big a response we would get, but people showed up in their droves! DJ Brother Luke of Elbowroom fame came along to get everyone dancing around their business cards and before long the studio was doing what it does best- getting people together and getting those creative juices flowing! It was fantastic to see how creativity blossoms during recession times (sorry to use the ‘r’ word!). We had such a strong response that we are thinking about making this a regular event at the studio. So far the plan is to get together on the first Tuesday of every month, but we need to confirm this first so keep your eyes peeled for more updates! If the good people of Dublin want a place to meet, brainstorm and create D-light studios is here to provide it!

Agata’s dovetailing interests in architecture and photography were put to great use recently when she spent a few hours photographing the studio space for our website. We want everyone to see what an interesting space 46 Clarence Street is, so have a look for yourself!

One of our very talented assistants at the studio, Monika Chmielarz, was kind enough to let us share her shots of the studio (pre-renovation) on our blog. These are some really beautiful black and white shots that were exhibited on launch night- not only to show the huge transformation of the space, but also to show Monika’s talent as a photographer!

Don’t forget to have a look at Monika’s online portfolio.
A Busy Day at the Studio

We had a crazy day on Wednesday with both studios booked for photoshoots, phew! In Studio A we had the fantastic David Poole who was shooting for Ireland’s Wedding Journal and our own Agata Stoinska was busy taking portraits for Life magazine in Studio B. There was a great vibe about the studio with two teams working away and doing what they do best. We had plenty of assistants on hand and three girls on work experience who were all eager to learn- the place was buzzing! Unfortunately, we can’t post any photos yet, but watch this space for updates! In the meantime, check out David’s website here and feast your eyes on some very edgy contemporary fashion shots. Enjoy!
