Make up artist Billy Orr has long been a friend of the studio’s. We love nothing more than getting a few nuggets of make up info from him when he’s in on a shoot. Now Billy has a column in Prudence Magazine, so everyone can get some of Billy’s wonderful tips! Pick up a copy of the March/April issue while you still can and get a dose of Billy’s make up secrets (-the mascara article is a personal favourite!) We can’t wait to see the next issue!! Fashion Breakthrough is being held from April 25th to May 1st in various locations around Dublin, including D-light Studios!
On Tuesday the 28th April, D-light Studios will play host to Fashion Breakthrough‘s much anticipated fashion show, produced by Angela Scanlon and Therese McKenna. This spectacular show will feature groundbreaking designers such as Heather Finn, Sophie Rieu and Lil’c Couture- check out all these amazing designers!!!

Apologies for being such bold bloggers! We finally got our mitts on some photos of the last Creative Get Together, what a great night! We had hairstylists, photographers, d.j.s, musicians, writers, artists, designers, consultants, politicians, sound engineers, architects, cinematographers….the list went on!
A big huge thank you to everyone who helped out on the night, especially Bren Crowe who played an incredible set! We want him to play here all the time- even if it’s just in the office on admin days!

Are your headshots in need of a revamp?
D-light studios is offering a full day to provide headshots courtesy of top photographer Agata Stoinska. On Tuesday 21st April, Agata will be shooting beautiful black and white headshots for anyone in need of an updated image. All you have to do is contact the studio to book a slot anytime between 9:30 and 5:30 for a professional studio headshot. The images taken will be posted to an online gallery for you to choose your two favourite shots, and your images will be sent on disc to you or your agency, whatever you prefer. This unique offer is available for only e100 to be paid on the day. This includes a portrait set-up photoshoot, two black and white images of your choice, digital processing, post production and a c.d. of your shots.

Fashion Photography Workshops at D-light Studios
The latest venture at D-light Studios is a series of one day workshops guiding anyone who is interested in breaking into the commercial fashion industry; from photographing and styling, to make up and assisting.
The first seminar offers a fantastic educational opportunity led by Dublin\’s top fashion photographer Agata Stoinska and assistant and studio manager Aoife Herrity.
On this workshop Agata you will teach you how to:

Approach potential clients
- Collaborate successfully with a stylist
-
Find the right model
-
Secure suitable studios or locations for shoots
-
Communicate effectively with hair and make up artists
-
Develop a striking portfolio
….and much more!
Then, Aoife Herrity will show you:

How to target photographers to assist

Basic knowlegde of studio equipment
-
The ettiquette of assisting
-
What is expected of an assistant on a shoot
…and more.
To conclude the day, atendees are encouraged to bring some of their own work for a relaxed critique; photos, tear sheets or rough ideas are all welcome!
