Established in July 2010, BLOW is Ireland’s first A3 Photography Magazine. Aimed at photographers of all disciplines, BLOW has set out to offer a platform for both Irish and international image makers to have their work seen, debated and discussed.
BLOW endeavors to unite seasoned photographers and passionate enthusiasts by providing a carefully selected collection of images to challenge and excite. The running theme of this magazine is photography itself, in all its guises.
This quarterly publication launched a teaser ‘preview’ issue in July 2010 to coincide with the first annual PhotoIreland Festival. This teaser issue, entitled ‘Hold Your Breath’ featured the work of Julia Fullerton-Batten and also a selection of the pieces on offer in the PhotoIreland Festival.
The first official issue of BLOW was released in October 2010 and featured work of acclaimed art photographer Roger Ballenand many other great photographers.
Issue 02 issue was released in February 2011, with it’s star – Gregory Crewdson and more amazing photographers like: Sam Taylor – Wood, Damien Peyret etc.
BLOW is being distributed in various locations in many galleries, art spaces and cafés around Dublin and Cork. It is also available on-line on BLOW Photo Magazine website.
The magazine runs competitions for single image and editorial (3-6 images). Submissions for the next 03 Issue are free of charge if posted with the special coupon attached to Issue 02.
