Homeless Gallery – Uncurated photo exhibition within the PhotoIreland Festival – 3rd of July.

The rules are simple.
Are you a photographer or photography-related artist that wants to exhibit works without paying a fortune for expensive galleries?
Then come to D-Light Studios and be a part of Homeless Gallery.
Rules:
•    anyone can exhibit their works
•    only photography related works can be presented
•    no restriction as of what kind of works to exhibit
•    no censorship, no guardianship, no selection!
•    you decide what you want to put on walls, we let you do that!
•    no restriction as of how many pieces can one exhibit
•    the only restriction is the artists’ imagination!
•    artists are the ones responsible for hanging the works on walls and ceilings and stairs and .. wherever they want to place it!
•    it’s all about photography, integration of Dublin’s photography community and fun

The highlights of the group exhibition Non-Seasonal Changes consists of a series of images by the Visavis.pl Photographers’ Collective, Kraków depicting the Polish town of Niepołomice. Niepołomice is a place dramatically transformed since Poland’s entry to the E.U. in 2004. Here the enormous changes of recent years have a familiar face, for instance apartments which have changed due to their owners’ new prosperity, growing awareness of the need to protect the natural environment, the development of civic initiatives and responsibilities by involving the disabled in the local community.

The Visavis.pl Photographers’ Collective, Kraków dedicate their works to comment on reality in a subjective manner, looking for inspiration in the most banal elements of everyday life. Their statements are closely linked with social commentary, which err away from documentary photography in its purest form.

Photographs of changing Niepołomice and its inhabitants have been taken since summer 2006 and the resuting body of work was first exhibited outside Bunkier Sztuki in December 2006 in Kraków. Since then many new work from this project have been on shown at various exhibitions.

Our next workshop is taking place on Saturday 28th May and it’s filling up fast  we only have a few places left! If you would like to take part in this one day crash course in editorial fashion photography then contact us to book a place!

The workshop runs from 10am – 4pm and is a great way to experience a professional photoshoot firsthand.

The workshop costs €250 with discounts for previous students and Friendship Card holders.

Internship Opportunities at D-light Studios

We are currently searching for:

Personal Assistant to Agata Stoinska, Photographer and Owner of D-light Studios

Applicants must be at least 21 years of age and speak fluent English. Ideal candidates must be organised and punctual, have excellent communication skills and a good phone manner. Basic computer skills and  knowledge of MS Office and Adobe Photoshop is desirable. Applicants must be available to work from June 2011.

Personal Assistant to Karolina Schlagner, Director of the Homeless Gallery

Candidates must be at least 18 years of age and be available to intern from early May – early July.  Strong organisational skills and a background in administration are a must and all applicants must speak fluent English. Experience with event planning / pr / marketing is preferable along with an interest in photography and the arts.

Graphic Designer

Applicant must be at least 18 years of age and hold a Diploma / Degree / Postgraduate Qualification in Visual Communication (or similar). Must be available for 15 hours max per week (flexible working hours). Fluency in Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator is essential, along with a flair for layout and typography.  Applicants must have excellent communication skills, be self motivated and have a strong attention to detail.
