TV Polonia visit the studio.

TV Polonia’s Klementyna Kasprzyk visited us recently at the studio to do a story on Agata and her success in the photography industry since she arrived in Ireland. Even for those of you who don’t speak Polish, there is a short interview with Tanya Grimson and some behind the scenes footage on the shoot of Agata’s last exhibition, Seen by Scene. Have a peek!

Get Together, Get Creative!

Do you feel lucky, punk?

Roll the dice to gain entry to the Creative Get Together! The cost of entry depends on the number you roll; a bargain night for one euro, or a six euro steal? It’s all in the wrist!

We are turning networking on its head this month and have a few tricks up our sleeves so you had better come prepared! We’ll be swapping business cards for name tags with a twist and then it’s time to get mingling…

Bring your cards, portfolios, notebooks, mock-ups, sketch books, tear sheets, leaflets, magazines, c.d.s, d.v.d.s, t-shirts…whatever it is you create or are envolved in, bring it along and put it on display. Inspire us!

Don’t forget that you are more than welcome to bring a bottle of wine or a few cans for yourself, but remember this is a night to get the creative juices flowing- not just a piss up!

Please find us on Facebook under Dlightstudios Dublin, where event notifications will be sent to all our friends. Confirmed music for the night is D.J. Bren Crowe of Splitloop.

When: Tuesday 7th April 6:30-9:30 pm

Where: D-light Studios Dublin, 46 North Great Clarence St, Dublin 1.

The studio is located on North Great Clarence Street, just off Portland Row beside the five lamps.

For more details visit http://d-lightstudios.com/ or contact the studio manager at 086 0233247.

See you at the studio!

We Love…Pictures!!!

Wow, things are really getting busy at the studio these days, what with gigs, events, shoots, networking nights- it’s a fantastic buzz! D-light was proud to host the We Love Hide and Seek on Saturday, what a great night! Bands, cake, daffodils and Polanski films proved to be a combination of kings! For those of you who didn’t make it up on the night (shame on you!) here are some snaps of what you missed out on…

welovehideandseek_poster

Saturday 21st March signifies the return of the We Love…..series, brought to you by the YHRF Collective. Following on from the sellout night – We Love…Yule at The Joy Gallery last December, the next in the series – We Love…Hide & Seek will feature performances fromEamonn Doyle (D1 Recordings), Villagers, Somadrone, The Rags, 202’s, Jouissance Productions, David Turpin, Maximum Joy, Skinny Wolves, YHRF Collective, a film room, and of course, cake.
YHRF was set up in 2008 to help promote the diverse creative community, and in the process help to support The Simon Community in all the good work that they do.
We Love….is a series of ‘guerrilla’ style events, rotating to the most interesting spaces in the city, comprising music, film, performance and art.
Young Hearts Run Free present We Love….Hide & Seek on Saturday 21st March at D-Light Studios, North Great Clarence Street, Dublin 1 (near the Five Lamps, off Portland Row). Admission is 15euros, 7pm sharp until late.

Something Old…..

One of our very talented assistants at the studio, Monika Chmielarz, was kind enough to let us share her shots of the studio (pre-renovation) on our blog.  These are some really beautiful black and white shots that were exhibited on launch night- not only to show the huge transformation of the space, but also to show Monika’s talent as a photographer!
