Something Old…..

One of our very talented assistants at the studio, Monika Chmielarz, was kind enough to let us share her shots of the studio (pre-renovation) on our blog.  These are some really beautiful black and white shots that were exhibited on launch night- not only to show the huge transformation of the space, but also to show Monika’s talent as a photographer!

The Birth of D-light Studios!

Thursday 5th Feb marked the arrival of a multimedia space to be reckoned with, as D-light Studios was christened in style!

The grand opening began with a performance by Stacey Gill, followed by The Evora as guests arrived.

Arriving firstly in Studio A, the guests surveyed the 180 square metre space showcasing Photographer and Entrepreneur Agata Stoinska’s photographic exhibition ‘Seen by Scene’. Stoinska’s latest body of work, containing fourteen photographic images, salutes iconic scenes and genres of cinema by fusing filmic memes with contemporary fashion disciplines. Visitors to the studio were also given the opportunity to view insightful behind the scenes images of the Seen by Scene journey along with stunning architectural images of the studio in its infancy, taken by Monika Chmielarz.

Speeches were given by dignitaries Dr. Tadeusz Szumowski (Polish Ambassador to Ireland) and Dr. Martin Mansergh T.D. (Minister of State with responsibility for Arts). Deputy Lord Mayor Cllr. Emer Costello and husband John Costello was also in attendance on the night.

The latter part of the evening continued with a cinematic theme as a cutting edge documentary  from director Eoin Macken and Producer Carl Shaaban was screened. Studio B housed the premiere of ‘The Fashion of Modeling’ which revealed itself to be an observant and intelligent look at the fashion industry in Ireland.

Following the documentary, The Brilliant Things performed the concluding musical act for the event, as guests sipped on cocktails compliments of Smirnoff. Canapés were also served on the night by caterers Naomi’s Kitchen To top the night, visitors departed with a catalogue of the ‘Seen by Scene’ exhibition, a signed limited edition photographic print by Agata Stoinska and a 30ml bottle of Magnifique fragrance courtesy of Lancôme.

The successful launch of the studio marks the first night of many in this innovative space and looks fondly towards 2009 as a year of inspiration and new beginnings in the creative and commercial industries.
